Bio

Chicago singer/songwriter Ron Lazzeretti writes simple songs of love and redemption-- alternately dark, funny and buoyant. His first record, Battle Of The Planets, mixed a distinct Americana-style sensibility with an unexpected touch of pop.
His 2023 release, “Fat Head, Sunday Paper” heads further down that path, this time with a heavier emphasis on rock played live.
A local poster boy for late bloomers everywhere, Lazzeretti has been playing the hallowed halls of the legendary roadhouse Fitzgerald's Nightclub in beautiful Berwyn, Illinois for decades. He currently hosts a Songwriter Circle there. He’s also played various priceless haunts including The Uncommon Ground, The Friendly, Outtaspace, The Lizard Lounge and The Golden Dagger.
Music aside, Ron is also a veteran writer, independent filmmaker and commercial director. He wrote and produced Michael Keaton’s directorial debut “The Merry Gentleman,” starring Keaton and Kelly Macdonald (No Country For Old Men). The film had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to earn rave reviews in the LA Times, The NY Times and the Boston Herald to name a few.
Ron also wrote and directed “Something Better Somewhere Else,” a feature-length collection of four stories under one theme, (not unlike an EP record) which celebrated film critic Roger Ebert hailed as “a delightful film, and in some stretches a flawless one.”
